Congratulations Blair Baugus on being selected as the 2023 Class 1A Miss Basketball. "The awards presentation took place on the floor of Murphy Center on the campus of MTSU on Monday, March 13 at 5:00 p.m. A statewide committee of sportswriters selected the winners based on performance during the 2022-2023 regular season. Academics and character were also taken into consideration. High school head basketball coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists." (Excerpt from TSSAA website)

Congratulations to the Wayne County High School Lady Cats who are state bound again and face Dresden in the Quarterfinals tomorrow at 2:45 in Murphy Center. If you can't make it in person, you can view the game on NFHS network for $11.99 per month and end the subscription afterwards.

WCHS Lady Cat Sophomore Blair Baugus has been chosen as a finalist for TSSAA Class A Miss Basketball 2023. The winners will be announced March 13 at a ceremony at MTSU's Murphy Center. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

The top 10 seniors selected for Mr. & Miss WCHS were Weston Buie, Ethan Holt, Eli Risner, Preston Stegall, Austin Winger, Lauren Bryant, Bailey Kilburn, Alexis Maghielse, Celia Powell, and Lacey Ray. The voting then went to the seniors to narrow down to 6 nominees who were Weston Buie, Ethan Holt, Eli Risner, Lauren Bryant, Celia Powell, and Lacey Ray. Congratulations to all of the nominees and to this year's Mr. & Miss WCHS 2023 Ethan Holt & Lauren Bryant.
