Bio

I was born on a cold, snowy day in January to two wonderful parents, James Howard and Billye Jean Skelton.  I am the youngest of three daughters.  My two older sisters, Susan and Sarah, were my idols while I was growing up in Waynesboro.

I attended Waynesboro Elementary School, Waynesboro Middle School and Wayne County High School.  I graduated from WCHS the spring of 1983 and attended Middle Tennessee State University in the fall.  In 1987, I enrolled at the University of North Alabama where I complete my degree in Interior Design with emphases in Graphic Design.

After graduation, I moved to Nashville were I secured employed with the interior design firm Sorci & Associates which specialized in commercial design and floor planning.  I remained in the corporate world for two years before moving back to Waynesboro.

I have two "loves-of-my-life!"  My first son, Hayden, was born in 1992. He graduated from WCHS in 2010 and from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 2014 earning a degree in Agricultural Economics & Resources.  He is currently employed with Peoples Bank in Waynesboro.  My second son, Carson, was born in 1995. He too graduated from WCHS in 2013 and is currently working at Brown-Foreman and attends TCAT Crump.

In 1992, I returned to the University of North Alabama to receive a B.S. degree in Art Education K-12.  Upon completion, I earned a Master's Degree in Special Education Modified K-12 from Tennessee State University in 1996.

In 1992, I began my teaching career working for the Wayne County Board of Education and have continued to do so to the present day.
